My only hope, seems broken & feeble
I feel lacking strength, courage & promptitude,
now I could never sail through

No matter how I move, setting forth seems the same,
Same sea, same dangers waiting for me

As though I have got nowhere but older.
Behind me on the receding shore
there is nothing I value, and somewhere
out there, the unraveling patience seems too prolonged

It is hard to remember how many times I have wished
to be navigated, and reach “home.”

He who held me, seems powerless & shattered
I feel alone, shattered & exhausted,
now I could never sail through

No matter what I do, time seems to stay still,
Same darkness, same dangers waiting for me

Can I give up? can I settle elsewhere?
with what all I am left with, what can I gather
there is nothing I value, and somewhere
out there, someone cries for me.

it is hard to find peace, it is hard to live
it is hard to forget, it is hard to forget being loved, and feel “home”.

His Love For Me

His love washes over me
Breaking onto my heart
I can taste it on my lips
Feel it wash over my skin
It makes me shiver
As it refreshes my spirit
I can hear the roar
Of His love building up
Only to crash over me
Dragging me down
Down into His embrace
My lungs feel like bursting
But He releases them with His love
As I breathe into Him and he into me
At times I feel He is receeding
But as I give myself over to Him
He will carry me along in His way
His love is wild and treacherous at times
Tossing me around,
Pounding me over and over
I try to escape
Come up for air
But He is there, all around me
When His love is gentle
It laps at my feet
Carressing my toes
It entices me to move closer
And sink into Him

There’s big work to do and there’s lesser to do,
